This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or junior mechanical design engineer, as you will play a pivotal role in the entire product development lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with project teams on the mechanical aspects of products and systems.
  • Designing custom equipment in accordance with defence standards to enhance modern defence capabilities.
  • Selecting appropriate materials, manufacturing processes, and integration methods to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Providing technical guidance to suppliers and internal departments, ensuring products meet design specifications and are fit for purpose.
  • Supporting quality assurance and production teams to ensure components and final products adhere to design intent.
  • Ensuring all generated data and design decisions follow best practices to maintain traceability.
  • Adhering to all Health and Safety requirements and procedures set by the company.

To be considered for this role, the company is looking for candidates with:

  • A relevant engineering qualification(s).
  • Formal training in CAD software (experience with Inventor is desirable).
  • Competency and a methodical working process when using 3D design software (Inventor preferred but not essential).
  • Awareness of common materials and considerations for selecting manufacturing methods.
