Caretaker vacancy at Pencalenick School

DescriptionTruro based school Pencalenick is looking to recruit a full-time Caretaker whose main duties are to:To maintain H&S compliance and property inspection / maintenance records and complete risk assessment paperwork as required and under the direct of the Premises ManagerTo act as joint key holder for the site ensuring security at all times including the operation of alarms. Through daily site inspectionsTo act as deputy to the Site Manager and act as cover in the event of illness/absenceTo ensure keys and access control fobs are kept/issued in line with policy/procedureTo report any major defects in building equipment and security systems observed in the course of duties and to liaise with approved contractors / Site Manager. (To visually monitor the condition of fire extinguishers ensuring all extinguishers are regularly serviced and that hoses and fire blankets are kept in good condition)To participate in evacuation processes as agreed and in accordance with the Schools recognised Evacuation Procedure and assist in logging in the appropriate Fire FolderTo assist in the collection and disposal of all refuse and ensure the school buildings and grounds are free of litter and graffiti. To ensure in winter especially that access roads pavements steps and playgrounds are safe for use at all timesAlthough this is the responsibility of the Cleaning Contractors: To monitor and ensure cloakrooms are stocked with hand soap hand towels etc. To undertake emergency cleaning (soiling of toilets sickness floods etc.) as necessaryTo support the Site Manager to monitor and manage the use and maintenance of the school minibusTo undertake the efficient operation of the heating system ensuring its good working orderGas / electricity / water (as applicable) meter readings/returns as required by School.To take deliveries of stores materials and other goods and to undertake porterage duties as required (including moving furniture equipment etc)To undertake occasional gardening dutiesTo undertake routine maintenance minor refurbishment and repairs of premises fixtures and fittings as necessaryTo be willing to be a school first aider (if not trained to be trained once in position) if requiredTo be aware of administer and adhere to applicable rules regulations legislation and procedures (e.g. Equal Opportunities Policy/Code of Conduct as well as national legislation - Health & Safety COSHH GDPR/Data Protection)To maintain confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking duties for the SchoolThe successful applicant will be available for call-out on a rota basis attend/contribute site meetings as required and may be asked to visit other local schools as required.Click here to applyOrganisation Address: Pencalenick SchoolSt ClementTruroTR1 1TEContact: Website: Pencalekick School Key Skills Experience Working With Students,Organizational skills,Classroom Management,Behavioral Health,Classroom Experience,Mediation Experience,Special Education,Conflict Management,Teaching,Experience with Children,Public Speaking,Word Processing Employment Type : Full Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
