Commissioning Engineer

Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting our client going through an exciting growth phase with the appointment of an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. This is an onsite role, Monday - Friday based in Darlington. This role will play a key part in supporting the front end and detailed facility design including providing input to ensure the smooth commissioning phase, as well as ongoing operational support. Job DescriptionCollaborate with design and project teams in terms of front end and detailed design input, specification, and implementation of the facility’s electrical infrastructure, including power distribution, control systems, and routing.Specify and influence plant layout, power distribution flows, and equipment selection.Manage and oversee electrical installations during construction, ensuring compliance with design specifications, codes, and standards.Participate in HAZOPs and operational readiness plansWork closely with mechanical, process, C&I and operations teams to integrate electrical systems within the overall plant performance.Monitor, test, and commission electrical systems to support the transition from build to operational phasesTroubleshoot, maintain, and modify electrical systems and equipment to optimise performance and reliability.Lead root cause analysis for electrical failures, implementing corrective and preventative measures.Prepare technical documentation including drawings, schematics, reports, and maintenance records.Skills RequiredBatchelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)Professional Member of the IEE or similar CompEXHV authorised person
