Staff Hardware Security Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate security engineer to own the effort of hardware security testing and assessment centrally across hardware products in Arm. The role is within Arm's multifaceted Product Security team. You will have the opportunity to drive improvements in security of Arm hardware systems, and processes, and build security culture.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive security assessment methodology for systems, SoC.
  • Perform security assessment of compute sub-system and SoC security.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of security mechanisms and countermeasures.
  • Perform security reviews of hardware implementation at RTL level.
  • Develop and implement security testing on hardware (soft IP, silicon, FPGA).
  • Provide security guidance to engineering teams.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies relevant to SOC devices
Required Skills and Experience :
  • Demonstrated knowledge on system/SoC security architecture development.
  • Good understanding of SoC architecture, embedded systems, and hardware/software co-design principles.
  • Expericence in developing and reviewing threat modeling.
  • Deep knowledge on microarchitectural attacks, side channels, fault injections.
  • Proficiency in Verilog RTL coding and scripting languages, such as: Perl, Python
  • Experience in security assessment for HW systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cryptographic algorithms, secure boot mechanisms
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
  • Arm instruction set architecture.
  • Knowledge of security certification schemes (e.g., PSA Certified, common criteria, SESIP) and international standards (e.g, ISO 21434, IEC 62443).
  • Experience with penetration testing, fuzzing, red team like activities.
  • Exploit development for HW security vulnerabilities.
  • Hands-on experience with security assessment tools, such as JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and side-channel analysis equipment.
