• Collaborate with interdisciplinary experts, including educators, neuroscientists, and therapists, to ensure a trauma-informed and culturally relevant approach.

• Develop engaging and inclusive activities that support students’ mental well-being and social-emotional learning.

• Focus on reducing school exclusions through innovative, restorative, and participatory methods.

• Ensure alignment with national curriculum standards while maintaining the unique essence of the Awaken Genius programme.

• Familiarity with trauma-informed and culturally responsive teaching practices.

• Passion for holistic education and addressing challenges faced by vulnerable Black children and families.

• Expertise in incorporating art-based therapies, movement, and mindfulness into lesson plans.

• Strong knowledge of Ubuntu philosophy or willingness to learn and integrate it into the curriculum.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Desirable Skills

• Background in drama therapy, theatre, or creative arts education.

• Experience working with children with adverse childhood experiences or those transitioning to secondary school.

• Familiarity with restorative justice and collaborative learning methods.

• Knowledge of neurodiversity and strategies to support diverse learning needs.
