About the Home Harris House is a 2 bedded childrens residential home inBicester, Oxfordshireand supports young people aged up to 18. It provides a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment by offering emotional and practical support to help children develop life skills and build confidence. The Role As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will: Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of young people in our care throughout the night. Supporting with night-time routines, manage incidents should they occur Provide through handover to the day shift. Support with daily routines, household tasks, and meal preparation. Encourage participation in community activities, and hobbies. Transport young people to school, medical appointments, and activities. Act as a positive role model, setting clear boundaries and building trust. Liaise with other professionals like social workers and therapists to ensure the physical and emotional needs are met. Help young people develop life skills, including managing finances. Maintain accurate records and paperwork. Work flexibly rotating onto weekends, bank holidays. Be able to work 5 nights on, 5 off from 9pm to 8am What Youll Bring Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm in challenging situations. Willingness to work towardsQCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare(fully funded). Honesty, empathy, and a commitment to being a positive role model.
