Childcare Solicitor – London – Hybrid Working

Position: Childcare Solicitor

Organisation: London based Local Authority

Duration: 3 months initial contract

Working Pattern: Full time

Working Arrangement: Hybrid Working- one day a week office attendance

Hourly Rate:  £50 umbrella per hour

Venn Group’s legal team are working with a London basedLocal Authority to recruit a Locum Childcare Lawyer.

The ideal candidate for this role will be either a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEx who can demonstrate having the ability to handle a demanding Childcare caseload and has local government experience.

This role is mainly casework focussed however the willingness to undertake advocacy would be an advantage.

Duties shall include:

1. Handing a full caseload of childcare matters and providing legal advice on all aspects of public law children matters
2. To negotiate, draft and agree legal documentation and forms, including briefs, claim forms, pleadings, witness statements and affidavits

1. To provide guidance, support, and supervision to less experienced staff
2. To maintain the high standards of the legal department through compliance with the LEXCEL standard
