Upper Strings Teacher (Music Development Lead)
Location: John Savage Centre, Redbridge Music Service, Vision – Redbridge Culture & Leisure, Fencepiece Rd, Ilford IG6 2NB
Contract: Full Time and Part Time hours available
Interview date: Week commencing 16th December
Start date: As soon as possible - start of the summer term at the latest.
We are looking for a well-qualified upper strings teacher to join the teaching team of this well-established Music Service from Spring/Summer 2025.
Redbridge Music Service enjoys a reputation for very high-quality music education. Our pupils present over 50 concerts per year, and we are very much looking forward to our 25th Redbridge Schools’ Choral Festival at the Royal Albert Hall in March 2025. Concert venues have included the Barbican, St John’s Smith Square, Royal Festival Hall and Buckingham Palace. Collaboration work includes supporting shows at the Kenneth More Theatre working with our colleagues at the Redbridge Drama Centre, also operated by Vision RCL.
Job requirements:
- To be a member of the teaching team and contribute to the development of the Music Service within the London Borough of Redbridge.
- Provide excellent teaching and continuity of service.
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership team and along with the rest of the Music Development Leaders, support your colleagues to provide high quality learning experiences.
- Be part of a team that works together in the development of the music equality, diversity and inclusion strategy, widening and ensuring access to a breadth of quality music and providing better outcomes for our students and communities.
- To teach and direct ensembles according to your specialism in schools and at the Music Centre, demonstrating outstanding teaching.
Essential requirements:
- Enhanced DBS checks will be undertaken as part of the recruitment process. It will be necessary to request references before being invited to interview as part of safer recruitment.
- Successful applicants will be placed on a salary scale according to their experience and qualifications.
