Job DescriptionA leading legal firm is seeking a Data Protection Manager to join their team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant regulations by implementing effective data protection measures. They will collaborate closely with the Risk Director and take the lead on all data protection matters. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently managing Data Subject Access Requests and possess a strong understanding of data protection and governance issues. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a growing compliance team within a company that fosters a positive work culture and offers opportunities for career advancement.Job Responsibilities:Ongoing updates and monitoring of the firm's policies and procedures.Managing Subject Access Requests and other data requests.Creating data protection impact assessments.Managing the ongoing appointment of the EU Data Representative and the annual renewal of that service.Advising the firm on the data protection/PECR implications of new business initiatives and general queries.Managing and maintaining the firm's Register of Processing Activities ("Data Map") and risk assessments.Advising on reported data breaches.Identifying opportunities to enhance the protection of sensitive/higher risk data and reduce data breaches.
