You’ll be confident supervising junior staff and motivating the team around you both during fieldwork and in the office. You’ll have a solid understanding of audit matters, and you’ll have the experience and technical know-how to put them into practice to ensure service delivery. You’ll be adept at conducting technical research, overseeing audit fieldwork and providing constructive advice for both clients and colleagues.

Job Purpose

  • Support the delivery of audit assignments from planning to completion
  • Lead onsite audit teams to ensure quality audit fieldwork
  • Plan and project manage a varied portfolio of audit clients
  • Preparation of financial statements and review statutory accounts, corporation tax computations and returns
  • Take responsibility for individual assignments to ensure effective and timely delivery
  • Preparation of reports for the review of Directors
  • Converse clearly and effectively by using computer software including IRIS, Sage, Xero and QuickBooks
  • Support junior staff by reviewing work and knowledge sharing
  • Liaise directly with clients, building strong rapport and proactively handling queries
  • Work to client expectations, budgets, and deadlines
  • Promote services to existing and prospective clients
  • Champion your own professional development, proactively learning from the experienced team
  • Support the wider firm with ad hoc duties as needed

The Successful Applicant

  • ACCA or ACA qualified, finalist or studying, with recent experience within practice
  • Solid understanding of UK audit regulations
  • Proven track record of leading audit assignments from planning to completion
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated, reliable and committed to progression
  • A strong work ethic, time management and organisational skills
  • Enthusiasm to learn from an experienced team
  • Hands-on attitude towards building client relationships
  • Proactive problem solver with a keen eye for detail
  • Able to work confidently with senior team members
