Cedar is partnering with a leading property organisation who are looking for a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller to lead a dedicated finance team.

Role Overview:

The Financial Controller will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the maintenance of robust internal controls. This role is pivotal in leading the finance team through interim and year-end audits, preparing essential financial reports, and ensuring the team continue to develop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Financial Accounting team, fostering a culture of learning and development.
  • Lead on the year-end and statutory accounting processes, liaising with auditors and ensuring reporting obligations are met.
  • Create financial policies and controls and ensure they are reviewed and updated annually.
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual statutory accounts.
  • Prepare quarterly cashflow reports for the board.
  • Oversee governance, controls, and finance systems, ensuring alignment with applicable financial regulations.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with ideally 5+ years post qualified experience.
  • Previous experience working in a large complex commercial organisation.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Successful leadership of year end and statutory accounts processes.
  • Experience in leading and managing audits and working with auditors.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and ability to communicate with senior leaders across the organisation.
