Senior Linux Engineer - Defence - £55k - £60k + Bonus & benefitsProvide expert support for Linux infrastructure across multiple contracts. Define operational processes, resolve escalations, and implement best practices. Assist occasionally with pre-sales and future system design.We seek an ambitious, committed individual with strong stakeholder management and customer skills. Must be highly automation-focused, eager to enhance scripting (Bash, Python, Ansible), and willing to work onsite. Prior experience in infrastructure support or network admin is beneficial.Required Skills & ExperienceCore Linux & AutomationCertification: Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent professional experience.Linux Expertise: Strong administration and support across multiple Linux distributions.Mixed Environments: Experience with Linux in integrated Windows / Active Directory environments.Automation: Strong experience with automation systems, specifically Ansible.Scripting: Proficient in scripting, particularly Bash, Python, and at least one other language.Clustering: Experience with clustered environments and cluster orchestration tools.Storage: Experience with clustered, parallel file systems (e.g., Lustre).Workload Management: Experience managing batch scheduling systems (PBS Pro, Slurm, SGE/UGE, etc.).HPC Knowledge: Knowledge of HPC management systems (e.g., Bright).Networking/Storage Admin: Experience with network administration (e.g., Mellanox InfiniBand) and storage administration (DDN, NetApp, IBM, Dell EMC).Benefits:£50k - £60k Base10% DV Bonus ( on top of base each year )£6k Car allowance ( can be taken as cash )10% Company BonusPaid certifications TPBN1_UKTJ
