This is an exciting opportunity to shape the direction of one of the most advanced and ambitious logistics fleets in the industry. As a key member of our leadership team, youll be responsible for ensuring our fleet remains safe, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with XPOs growth and environmental objectives. Youll bring innovation, rigour, and commercial insight to how we acquire, maintain, and modernise our vehicleswhile leading our transition to a more sustainable, low-emission future. What youll doLead strategically:Develop and deliver a comprehensive fleet strategy that supports business growth, operational efficiency, and environmental goals.Champion sustainability:Drive the transition to electric and alternative-fuel vehicles, embedding sustainability at the heart of fleet operations.Optimise operations:Oversee all aspects of vehicle acquisition, maintenance, and disposal to ensure safety, compliance, and performance.Deliver commercial excellence:Manage the fleet budget, monitor performance, and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising safety or service.Manage partnerships:Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, leasing providers, maintenance suppliers, and technology partners.Leverage technology:Utilise telematics and fleet systems to analyse data, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.Lead your team:Inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing fleet management team that delivers excellence every day.What youll bringProven experience in a senior fleet management role within logistics, transport, or a related sector.Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation, compliance, and safety standards.Commercial and financial acumen with the ability to manage large-scale budgets.Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.Experience implementing telematics and data-driven decision-making.A passion for innovation and sustainability in fleet operations.Desirable: Professional qualifications such as CPC, IRTE, ILM, or CILT.Experience leading green fleet initiatives or the transition to electric/alternative-fuel vehicles.Knowledge of Lean or continuous improvement methodologies.Why XPO?At XPO Logistics, were more than a transport and logistics companywere a global leader committed to innovation, safety, and sustainability.
