Game UI Artist

About the Company:

We are working with an innovative and dynamic new mobile gaming studio who are looking for an experienced Senior 2D/UI Artist to join them on an exciting new venture.

The team is currently working on an innovative game that seamlessly blends music and gameplay. As a UI Artist, you will be playing a crucial role in amping up the mobile game interface, making it look and feel awesome for a new player base.

Overview:

• Job Title: 2D/UI Artist
• Location: Fully remote ( Must align with UK Time zone +/- 5 hours)
• Duration: 3-month Contract Position - Outside of IR35
• Start Date: Immediate

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Art Director and team to understand what the game needs to look and feel like.
• Design and create engaging UI such as menus, buttons, icons, and in-game HUD elements.
• Keep the game's look in line with the a neutral and clean aesthetic that you'd find on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and Beatstar.
• Make sure everything you design works smoothly on mobile devices, considering things like screen size and touch controls.
• Handle your projects solo, but don't hesitate to ask for help or input when you need it.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working on mobile games, with a focus on UI Art and design.
• Up-to-date portfolio showcasing previous UI work, including examples of mobile game interfaces.
• Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and composition.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects, while also being receptive to feedback and direction.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with animation and motion graphics.
• Familiarity with game development pipelines and workflows.
• Passion for music and/or rhythm games.
