Our independence deep experience and understanding of the intricacies of equities execution combined with access to the widest spectrum of venues best in class trading tools and extensive buy-side and sell-side connectivity enable us confidently to meet the highest service level expectations for our clients.Role Responsibilities:Evaluating and monitoring hard and soft catalyst event driven special situations with particular focus on North-American merger arbitrage for a global hedge fund client baseCompile continuous updates on event driven announcements and press commentsWork with sales/sales traders on actionable idea driven sales callsCommunicate analysis and ideas with clients up to CIO levelSource and undertake calls with deal related management advisors journalists sector experts etcProvide real-time analysis and opinions on breaking newsTraveling to company events and conferences as requiredUndertake equity valuation analysisWork with Olivetrees Long/Short and Index Events teams and clientsAny ad hoc duties that may be required from time to time.The ideal candidate will possess the following:Intellectual curiosity and commercial idea driven focusSelf motivated and able to work in a fast moving entrepreneurial environmentAble to work collaboratively as well as independentlyStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsWillingness to work additional and flexible hours when necessaryConfidence in communicating up to Board and C-suite level with companies being researchedRequirements and Preferences:Investment banking experience two years post trainingEvent driven M&A or private equity related experience preferred but not essentialKnowledge and experience of US equity market and macro-economic fundamentalsAdvanced excel knowledge preferableWorking knowledge of BloombergThis role is regulated under the FCAs Senior Managers and Certification Regime.Commitment To DiversityAt Alvar Financial Services we believe that every voice matters.
