Marine Engineering Technicians – Electrical & Mechanical | Up to £21.57/hr | 6-Month Contract We are looking for skilled Electrical and Mechanical Technicians to support a major marine engineering programme during deep maintenance periods. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your technical expertise will directly contribute to restoring and regenerating essential systems keeping operations moving forward. What You will Be Doing: Maintaining and assisting in the regeneration of key electrical and mechanical systems onboard vesselsRectifying defects and ensuring equipment is safe, operational, and test-readyCompleting defect reports and system updates using a digital maintenance management systemSupporting ongoing deep maintenance projects and upkeeping responsibilities onboard shipsCommunicating effectively with engineering teams and stakeholders to report on system condition and readinessWhat you will need: A level 2 or 3 qualification (ONC, NVQ, BTEC or equivalent) in an engineering disciplineProven experience as a mechanical or electrical technicianAbility to carry out physical work onboard ships regularlyStrong IT literacy for reporting and maintenance loggingA proactive, flexible approach to general marine maintenance and upkeeping dutiesGreat teamwork and communication skillsIdeal Candidates: This role is perfectly suited to professionals from a marine, defence, or structured engineering background — particularly those who've thrived in disciplined environments and understand the demands of working on vessels.
