Platform Engineer (AWS / OpenShift)Location: London, Bristol, or Edinburgh (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office)Salary: £70,000 – £85,000 DOE + bonus + 15% pensionJoin a well-established engineering team responsible for one of the most critical container platforms in the organisation - Red Hat OpenShift running on AWS.You’ll work within a collaborative team of five Platform Engineers, supporting and evolving a mature container platform that hosts a range of business-critical customer-facing services. This isn’t greenfield, it’s a technically rich, high-impact environment where you’ll help refine, automate, and modernise an already well-run platform to make it as seamless as possible for developers to consume.Delivering and continuously improving OpenShift platforms on AWSAutomating infrastructure delivery using Terraform and GitOps principlesEnhancing reliability, performance, and security of the platformSupporting onboarding of new workloads and servicesWorking on projects to make the platform more self-healing and developer-friendlyCollaborating closely with DevEx teams and other internal engineering squadsYou’ll bring:3+ years’ experience in platform or infrastructure engineering2+ years with container platforms (OpenShift or Kubernetes)Strong AWS knowledge and Infrastructure as Code skills (Terraform)Good understanding of Linux, scripting (Python / Bash), and automationFamiliarity with CI/CD, change and release processes, and agile environmentsAn understanding of regulated environments, as well as governance and security best practicesWhether you come from an operations or development background, you’ll bring an engineering mindset and a structured, disciplined approach to delivery.What's in it for you?A technically mature environment, no firefighting or chaos, just smart engineeringOpportunity to work on interesting automation and platform-as-a-product initiativesA collaborative, experienced team with great mentorship opportunities15% pension, annual bonus, flexible hybrid working, and a genuine focus on employee wellbeing
