Our Story:


SMG was founded in 2019 by Managing Director David, who was driven by a desire to redefine agency-client relationships. After years of working in large agencies, David became frustrated with the profit-first mentality, where client needs were often overshadowed by selling strategies that benefited the agency more than the client.

David felt compelled to start an agency that was both flexible in its offerings and passionate about delivering an approach that puts their clients' needs front and centre. And so, SMG was born.

Since then, SMG has gone from strength to strength, growing each year and has big plans for 2025. Whilst we’re a small team, we work with big-name clients across a wide range of sectors and are experts in ensuring their digital presence is cutting-edge.

What We Offer:


  • Salary: £35k–£40k (dependent on experience)
  • Location: Newcastle upon Tyne. The role is mostly remote, although the candidate will need to travel to Newcastle upon Tyne to meet with the Director / team once per week.

The Role:


The Graphic Designer will take direction from the agency staff and collaborate well with other team members. However, they will also be happy working autonomously, bringing fresh ideas to the client and putting their own stamp of excellence on their work.

You’ll have the opportunity to design creative assets, manage organic social media channels, and support the digital needs of our clients, all while maintaining strong communication with them.

You will also look after SMG’s in-house marketing and collaborate with the team on how to best position SMG to the world.


The Person:


This role is perfect for someone with strong marketing and graphic design expertise who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment

Must-Have Skills:

  • Marketing experience (preferably in an agency setting).
  • Graphic design skills with a focus on digital media.
  • Organic social media management (LinkedIn, Instagram & Facebook – other channels are desirable).
  • Web development experience (WordPress).
  • Branding Skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a client-facing role, regularly interacting with clients via video calls and emails
  • Passionate about getting results for clients.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Paid social media ad management (Meta Business, LinkedIn).
  • Photography / Videography / Editing.
  • Willingness to harness new technologies like AI.
  • E-commerce website development skills.
