LIO works closely with the various asset management businesses within the M&G plc Group and other external managers to structure multi-asset portfolios aligned with the investment objectives of our clients. The ESG & Regulatory team devises ESG policy and investment strategy at the asset owner level and drives these into portfolio allocations benchmarks and positions. This ESG Analyst role has a social focus and would be responsible for supporting the ESG Manager with a similar social focus.Key Responsibilities of this role:Carrying out ESG investment analysis at both portfolio and individual company level to inform both the level of adherence to ESG investment policy and the formulation of ESG investment strategyCarrying out analysis of exposures of companies and portfolios to social risks including but not limited to modern slavery in supply chains activity in conflict affected and high risk areas seeking of free prior and informed consent and compliance with labour rightsSupporting the formulation with key stakeholders of investment policy and strategy on various ESG issues and ensuring these are governed and agreed appropriatelySupporting alongside other teams in LIO the implementation of agreed ESG investment strategy in Asset Owner portfoliosCompiling and writing ESG related reports (both regulatory and financial) on behalf of the Asset Owner entity of M&G plc including but not limited to NZAOA reporting TCFD reporting Stewardship Code and UN Principles of Responsible InvestmentCompiling ESG-related management information on Asset Owner portfolios in order to improve and inform ESG reportingAssist and advise functions within the Asset Owner to integrate and implement ESG in their BAU activityKey Skills & Experience required for this role:This role is ideally suited to someone who can demonstrate:An interest in and some knowledge of ESG topics and investment considerationsAbility to research potentially unfamiliar topics and translate findings into investment policies and positions in the context of insurance investmentsComfort in working with and presenting to stakeholders across different functions and knowledge basesGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prioritise and deliver work in a flexible manner and to deadlinesAbility to work within a team environmentEffective analytical skillsEffective problem solving skillsGood MS Office Suite skills e.g. Word Excel PowerPoint Power BIDesirableSome knowledge of asset classes and their roles in multi-asset and annuity portfoliosSome knowledge of social issues in sustainability and how they may impact investment strategy.
