Environmental Advisor

Carmichaels are seeking an Environmental Advisor to work on the HS2 project in Birmingham on a contracting basis.Reporting to an Environmental Manager.  Responsible for helping to initiate and then maintain systems to ensure compliance with contract requirements and company standards and targets.  Responsibilities will include:Ensure compliance of works with Construction Code of Practice and other environmental  requirements Working within the construction teams to facilitate project deliveryDevelopment of EMS documentation and systemsDevelopment of environmental works solutions/mitigation and monitoring regimesRoll out of systems to ensure construction methodologies and programme meet Environmental Minimum RequirementsEnvironmental Reporting Management of Environmental Opportunities and Risks, updating of register and progressing selected opportunity actionsThe following experience is essential:A sound understanding of environmental legislation and principles of environmental management systemsUnderstanding of the benefits of working collaboratively to obtain the best outcome Good interpersonal and communication skills Determination to see tasks through to completion, with excellent planning and organisation skillsThe following qualities/ experience are desirable:Good experience of environmental issues in a work environment Member of an environmental professional bodyExperience of taking on new challenges in a systematic and enthusiastic manner
