JOB PURPOSE:

To provide electrical support to the assembly lines and vehicle confirmation team.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To seek and repair electrical faults on the vehicle (which may also involve removal and re-fitting of interior/exterior trim.)
  • Ability to use diagnostic equipment for re-testing and verification process.
  • Read and interpret diagnostic equipment output to minimise rework time/costs.
  • Recording & Reporting of faults back through to relevant areas of production / engineering.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Engineers/suppliers with regard to electrical issues.
  • Work on download stations completing work to takt while adhering to process instruction.
  • Be able to check vehicle specifications conform to build requirement/ customer options using the relevant documentation.
  • Storage of controlled substances / components safely in correct location(s).
  • Support quality, productivity, and process improvements initiatives.
  • Adhere to company safety, housekeeping and discipline standards.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Completion of an appropriate automotive apprenticeship (city & guilds level 3 + or equivalent) is essential.
  • Specialised knowledge of auto electrics, harness manufacture, and electronic module experience (diagnostics) is necessary.
  • A knowledge of automotive electrical architecture & VCATS would be advantageous.
  • Be able to work to Aston Martin build standards working with interior and exterior trim.
  • The successful applicant must be able to work on his/her own initiative and also cope under varied workloads.
  • Manual dexterity, mechanical/quality aptitude.
  • Able to train others on process and job role requirements.
  • Can do attitude, determination to see the task through to completion at the right quality level.
  • Team oriented with effective communication skills.
  • Accountable and demonstrates initiative.
  • Reliable and efficient.
  • The ability to read, interpret and work to engineering circuit drawings /process sheets is essential.
  • This is a role that is track tied and requires the incumbent to be on their feet for the entirety of the shift.
  • Flexibility to work shift patterns, overtime, weekends to achieve production targets.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • The post holder will be required to comply with all policies and procedures issued by and on behalf of Aston Martin Lagonda ltd.

Volume protection contractual overtime arrangements are in place to ensure required production demands can be met. Stand up and Stand down balances are managed as part of each employees Working Time Account (WTA).

All production employees are required to align with fixed holidays throughout the year in line with production shutdowns. Your annual leave ‘floating days’ are on a pro-rota basis based on your start date and can be taken outside of those shutdowns.
