Think Recruitment are working with a contractor who specialise in commercial fit out projects, to assist in the recruitment of an Assistant/Trainee/Graduate Estimator for their office in Sheffield.You will assist and learn from the estimating team in their work which will involve travelling to prospective clients to gather details to submit an accurate estimate of costs for the clients commercial fit out needs.A Full Estimator's Duties May IncludeEnsure that all estimating processes and procedures are followed to deliver a submission following tender settlementWork within established commercial and operations team in preparation of competitive tender offersUndertake site visits to establish and verify asset information provided as part of the tender documentationUndertake a full analysis of tender returns received during the tender processAttend start-up pre-price and price meetingsProject locations across the UKA sound knowledge and understanding of JCT contracts, and demonstrable experience of running interior fit out works contracts is preferableTypically, the role will involve the management of multiple contracts concurrently, so the ability to manage time efficiently is criticalPrevious experience of working on constructions contracts is useful, though not essentialAbility to review contracts, contract ammendments, and identify risks to the business is usefulmethodical and well organised approach to financial management of the project (s)Internal handover with sales and operationProcurement of subcontract packages - LPM / Labour only / materials supply The PersonDegree level qualification in construction/surveying or equivalentKnowledge of the fit-out and construction industry would be usefulUsed to client facing activityExcellent analytical skills are essential, as are numeracy, literacy and communication skills in EnglishComputer literacy in MS Office, estimating software, etc Please apply with an up to date CV highlighting your experience
