About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE Trainer to join our team for a Q1 2025 start. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) training programs to ensure the highest standards of workplace safety and compliance. The successful candidate will cover crucial topics such as Life Saving Rules, Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, Control of Work, Isolation, and Immobilisation. All training will be aligned with the Project Risk Assessment results.
Key Responsibilities
As the Training Coordinator, you will:
- Analyze Training Needs: Conduct thorough training needs assessments for all levels of personnel to identify and address skill gaps.
- Trainer Development: Train Subcontractor trainers on the Principal Contractor’s HSE training modules to ensure consistent and effective knowledge transfer.
- Create Training Schedules: Develop detailed training schedules based on workforce activity and manpower needs, adjusting on a weekly or monthly basis as required.
- Coordination & Communication: Effectively communicate the training schedule to the Principal Contractor and Subcontractors in advance of each session.
- Record Management: Maintain up-to-date records of all HSE training, ensuring documentation is accurate and easily accessible.
- Material Verification: Oversee and approve training materials prepared by Subcontractors, ensuring quality and relevance.
- Subcontractor Audits: Conduct audits of Subcontractors to assess the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of their training programs and facilities.
- Workforce Competence: Ensure all trained personnel are competent to carry out their responsibilities safely and effectively.
- Assessment & Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of assessments and audits for review and reporting purposes.
- Support Site HSE Team: Provide ongoing support to the Principal Contractor’s HSE Site Team, addressing training-related issues and facilitating improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in HSE training, preferably in the engineering, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong knowledge of Life Saving Rules, confined space safety, working at heights, and other critical HSE protocols.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to develop and manage training schedules.
- Competence in auditing and verifying training quality and efficiency.
