The opportunity
Join London College of Fashion as a Specialist Technician in Pattern Cutting and bring your expertise to the delivery of learning and teaching activities.
You will have the chance to inspire and guide a diverse student body, from different levels of study, by answering questions and offering insights into the world of manual pattern cutting.
As a specialist in manual pattern cutting, you will assist students in creative problem-solving and contribute to technical workshops, adapting your teaching style to meet individual needs.
You will also collaborate closely with colleagues across the Garment department, ensuring that our studios are organised and running efficiently. Out of term time, you will help with workshop preparation, asset management, and studio organisation.
Please note this role includes an evening and a weekend.
About you
To thrive in this role, you will need a degree or equivalent qualification in pattern cutting for fashion with substantial relevant industry experience.
Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt your teaching methods to a diverse audience, both in person and online are essential, alongside a passion for delivering inclusive, accessible, and engaging technical instructions that empower students to excel in a changing world.
If you’re ready to share your talent and expertise in pattern cutting while shaping the next generation of designers, we would love to hear from you.
