Master Upholsterer

Upholsterer £15.00 - £17.00 per hourMy client is looking to recruit upholsterers to join their team. They will consider fully qualified upholsterers with experience in sofa seating, chairs, and a wide range of applicationsMeasure and cut fabric or leather pieces with the aid of patterns or stencils and industrial cutting tools to precise sizes and dimensionsUsing power and hand tools, apply and install batting, foam, poly-filler and cut fabric to wooden frameworkAttach finishes, including buttons, trims, tassels, and other decorative accessories.Operate portable hand-sewing equipment, nail guns, hobnail and tack hammers, hot-knife cutters, and other industrial equipmentManually sew upholstery or operate sewing machines to seam cushions and join various ends of a fabricMaintain up-to-date knowledge of upholstery techniques by monitoring the upholstery industry to identify trendsFollow sketches, patterns, or specifications to indicate cutting lines on fabrics using chalks, pencils, or paintExamine furniture frames, springs, and webbings to identify defectsApply knowledge of upholstery to build or repair upholstered furniture using a variety of hand or power toolsThe ideal candidate will have upholstery experience, dexterity, and an understanding of the suitability of fabrics. Good verbal communication skills along with being dependable, responsible and detail orientated are critical to success
