Device Driver TesterI’m working with a leading specialist software company, specializing in device automation and data integrity solutions. Based in Runcorn, their solutions are used worldwide.They are looking for a Device Driver Tester to join their team and play a varied role, being exposed to the full lifecycle within an agile environment. As part of the strategic software team, you will contribute to the next generation of core products targeting a global marketplace. Your responsibilities will include enabling the driver development process, from communicating with the manufacturer and specifying the driver’s behaviour to testing device drivers, documentation, and troubleshooting. You will work closely with Device Driver Developers and the Head of QA to understand the tools and techniques used to create robust and feature-rich drivers and help ensure strong processes around them to guarantee their quality.Key Skills: * Proven experience in a Device, Firmware, or Embedded testing role * Excellent communication skills * An interest in low-level device communications and understanding protocols from documentation * Experience in low-level device communications (TCP/RS232), embedded software, or firmware development * Understanding of all stages of the development lifecycle * Ideally, a degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or similarThis role will suit you if you enjoy working with a variety of software packages and devices/equipment.The role will necessitate being onsite to test devices with occasional remote work, so you will need to be able to commute to the office daily.Benefits * Laptop and phone provided * 6% contributory pension scheme * 25 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays)
