Position: Minor Civils EngineerLocation: Crawley Depot Sussex Region (Crawley West Sussex)Job Type:permanent full timeHours:Monday to Friday 50 hours per week (start times to be discussed on interview)Salary:Competitive depending upon experienceBenefits:21 days holiday (plus bank holidays); personal learning; workplace pension; onsite parking; wellbeing support; friendly working environmentAbout the role:Due to continued growth and development we are now looking for customer focused people to join us in our Utility Division working on our Southern Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems.Ensure materials are stocked from the depot for all work planned including but not limited to sewer chamber covers cement resin tarmacPrepare the boiler system for the tarmac whilst at the depot ensuring the correct temperature is reachedConduct an onsite risk assessment supported by the appropriate photosDeploy traffic management as per processes and rams and evidence with photosComplete a service avoidance of the area for cables and services alongside documenting photosCAT and Genny in particularRepair and replace broken sewer chamber frames and covers referring to the SOP F&C PMMA step-by-step installation guide (separate to this document):Remove defected Sewer Chambercover using the appropriate tools with photographic evidenceMeasure the area to cut clearly marked out ensuring clean lines and accuracy remove spoil and confirm with picturesTaking into consideration guidelines and scope of works lay the bed and frame ensuring it is level supported by photosLay the resin tarmac and chippings in accordance with the guide alongside documenting photosEnsure any waste left on site is cleared and confirm with picturesReview any changes to the Standard Operating Practise and adhere to any amendments throughout your workBe aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards themAny other reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by managementSo if you enjoy working in a fast paced environment and delivering only the best in customer service where no two days are the same and want to join a growing company that not only values you and your ability - but also strives to develop your potential and further your career progression - then we are the right Company for you.What is essential is the ability to work safely to quickly diagnose and deliver practical and efficient solutions to attain the highest levels of customer satisfaction.About you:The ideal candidate will:Be hard working and respectfulComply with health and safety standardsHave great interpersonal skills to create relationships with the teamHave basic knowledge of both Microsoft 365Have solid communication skillsBe resourceful and proactiveMulti-task prioritise work under pressure and on own initiativeAt Lanes Group we are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered.
