The Role

You'llsupport the Senior Finance Business Partner (Customer & Community Investment) to ensure that the team deliver timely, accurate and comprehensive internal financial management accounts to seniormanagement teams, giving insight into business performance and driving businessdecision making. You'llsupport in organising and guiding the wider team of management accountants to provide outstanding services to our customers. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Senior Finance Business Partner to ensure the team delivers robust analysis and commentary explaining monthly performance variances against Budgets and Forecasts, highlighting Risks and Opportunities, and supporting the businesswithreforecasting
  • Identifying, implementing and sharing proactive ways to improve business partnering for Customer and Communities teams, taking the lead in driving projects and initiatives through to completion withsupport from the rest of the team
  • Continually improving forecasting by providing high quality insight and pattern analysis to budget holders, recommending areas that need focus and ways to improve
  • Taking the lead in managing period end procedures to support timely and accurate delivery of monthly management reporting, including variance analysis, follow up and detailed commentary
  • Taking responsibility for the budget and forecasting process, using your experience to support budget holders and knowing when to encourage, when to instruct, and when to push back
  • Delivering robust analysis of actuals to ensure accurate accounting, understanding and analysiswithrecommendations for SeniorManagement
  • Presenting financial reports to SeniorManagement teams and key stakeholders, being able to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial colleagues

What we need from you

You'll be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)withdemonstrable experience in a similar seniormanagement accounting role, ideally within a large or complex organisation. Previous experience working for a Housing Association would be advantageous but is not essential. You'll also:

  • Have strong, clear working knowledge of processes and controls surrounding budgeting, forecasting and management account preparation, including detailed report writing and analysis
  • Be an effective communicatorwith the ability to build trustingrelationshipswith key stakeholders
  • Have experience in presenting financial reports, data and insights clearly and confidently to non-finance stakeholders
  • Have the ability to advise and influence key stakeholders of all levels in the business
  • Proactively challenge, introducing new ideas to drive the progressive development of the business
  • Be highly numerate with strong IT skills, including MS Word and Excel
  • Work well to deadlines, prioritising workloads effectively
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs, demonstrating a logical approach to your work

Knowledge of Agresso Accounting system or Power BI would be advantageous but not essential
