SC Senior Platform Engineer - Hampshire (full time onsite) - £480-£580 per day outside ir35 - 3 months rollingPlease note: Due to the nature of the project, successful applicants will be required to be Security Cleared prior to appointment.They are also open to immediately available permanent candidates. Salary circa £75,000.My client is an SME consultancy, specialising within the defence and security sector. They are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to play a key role in the design, delivery, and evolution of our platform engineering capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable platform solutions across cloud and on-premise environments.Contribute to the development and governance of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring consistency and efficiency.Support the implementation of monitoring, observability, and incident response frameworks.Collaborate with SRE and operations teams to ensure platform reliability, performance, and resilience.Participate in incident response and root cause analysis, driving continuous improvement.Act as a subject matter expert in platform technologies, guiding engineering decisions and best practices.Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to platform evolution and innovation.Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into platform capabilities.Participate in architecture reviews, governance forums, and strategic planning sessions.Qualifications & ExperienceStrong experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure development.Proficiency in Kubernetes, CI/CD tooling, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and Infrastructure as Code.Demonstrated ability to deliver complex platform solutions in hybrid environments.Solid understanding of platform security, compliance, and operational tooling.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Experience in regulated environments (e.g., Defence, Security) is highly desirable.Desirable SkillsCertifications in cloud platforms or DevOps practices.Experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).Exposure to platform governance and architecture forums.Familiarity with incident management and operational support processes.Some international travel may be requiredSC Senior Platform Engineer - Hampshire (full time onsite) - £480-£580 per day outside ir35 - 3 months rolling
