Job Title: Oracle DBA Contractor


Location: Remote (must be based in the UK with the right to work)


Contract Duration: 3 Months (with potential extension/Rolling contract)


My client are seeking an experienced Oracle DBA Contractor to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, specifically with Oracle databases, and will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our clients' Oracle database environments. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of database performance and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, and support Oracle databases for our ERP systems.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of Oracle databases.
  • Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and performance tuning.
  • Monitor database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
  • Develop and implement database security policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.
  • Work closely with the development and support teams to optimize application performance.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Document database configurations, procedures, and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Oracle DBA in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Database 11g, 12c, and higher versions.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
