This role is ideal for a skilled welder or inspector who is passionate about quality, safety, and ensuring work meets the highest industry standards.We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates clearly, and brings a proactive, detail-focused approach to supporting welders, quality teams, and wider project stakeholders.The RoleAs a Welding Inspector, you will play a key part in ensuring all welding activities meet required specifications, norms, and safety expectations. You will support quality and production teams through inspection, verification, and clear communication to keep projects on track and compliant.Key ResponsibilitiesVerify that welding outputs meet required specifications, standards, and schedulesCommunicate performance expectations to welders when neededLiaise with internal and external stakeholders to maximise efficiency and qualitySupport and enforce production, safety, and quality proceduresEnsure all welding meets specified requirements before formal inspections take placeConfirm welded materials and consumables comply with relevant specificationsAssist Quality Control teams with surveillance and inspection activitiesEssential Experience & QualificationsTime-served, qualified/coded MAG/TIG welder with thin-gauge steel experiencePrevious experience in a supervisory, lead, or inspection roleGood IT literacy Recognised technical qualification - CSWIP 3.1 as minimum Gold passport or equivalent Desirable Experience & QualificationsWelding experience in a sheet-metal manufacturing environmentExperience working within a nuclear environmentPersonal AttributesHighly organised with excellent attention to detailMethodical and diligent approachCurious and confident questioning anything that seems out of placeProactive with strong prioritisation skillsClear, confident communicatorStrong focus on safetyAble to interpret welding symbols and technical dataSolid understanding of welder safety standards Pay rates Std - £39.00 PAYE / £51.63 UMBRELLA - Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 17:00 (37 per week) O/T1 - £58.50 PAYE / £75.42 UMBRELLA - Mid-week 17:00 - 19:30, Friday and Saturday.
