A superb opportunity for an experienced Process Engineer to join the team at a chemical manufacturing company in Cheshire.


Our client is looking for an Engineer who can demonstrate experience of plant process improvement, new product development and process safety in a regulated manufacturing environment.


THE ROLE:

  • Participate in process engineering studies, process designs and engineering projects to support the development of the site
  • Ensure process safety is properly addressed and included in all process designs
  • Design and develop new processes/products and improve existing processes to meet project objectives
  • Support equipment design, selection, commissioning, operator training and optimisation
  • Carry out process hazard, risk and feasibility studies
  • Support management of change to ensure effective control and approval of process change
  • Provide technical support, troubleshoot process issues to eliminate manufacturing problems
  • To lead & execute plant trials in order to support new product and process development
  • Produce and update technical reports
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering
  • Experience gained in a chemical or similar regulated manufacturing environment (min 4 years)
  • Technical knowledge of chemical process equipment/processes
  • Experience of equipment design, specification, selection, commissioning, plant trials
  • Understanding of process and functional safety using HAZOP and LOPA
  • Good knowledge of H&S standards and regulations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Pro-active approach to problem solving
