At BarthHaas, we’re pioneers in the beer industry, delivering top-notch hop products and services for over 230 years. We’re proud of our legacy, but we’re always looking ahead – and we need someone like you to join us on this exciting journey.

The Role
As our Health & Safety Manager, you’ll play a critical role in fostering a culture of safety and well-being across our manufacturing operations. From shaping policies to driving initiatives, you’ll ensure compliance with UK standards and empower our team to work smarter and safer every day.
What You’ll Be Doing
Here’s a glimpse into your key responsibilities:
- Policy Leadership: Develop and update health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with UK regulations. Communicate these effectively across multiple platforms.
- Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments, lead audits, and collaborate with external agencies to maintain our safety standards.
- Emergency Preparedness: Create and implement response plans, coordinate drills, and manage emergency equipment maintenance.
- Safety Culture: Promote safety awareness through campaigns, training, and continuous improvement initiatives. Lead by example and inspire proactive safety behaviors.
- Incident Analysis: Investigate incidents and near-misses, identify root causes, and develop preventative strategies in partnership with functional teams.
- Budget Management: Oversee the health and safety budget and ensure training programs are properly resourced.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who blends expertise with energy and a forward-thinking mindset. Here’s what we value:
- Education & Credentials: A degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. NEBOSH/IOSH certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: At least 5 years in health and safety management, ideally in a food, pharma, or chemical manufacturing environment.
- Skills: Analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with excellent communication skills to inspire and influence others.
- Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Leadership: A track record of leading change and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Why Join BarthHaas?
At BarthHaas, we don’t just offer jobs – we offer careers with purpose. Here’s why we’re different:
- A Legacy of Innovation: With over two centuries in the beer industry, we’re dedicated to pushing boundaries and shaping the future.
- A Culture That Cares: We believe in fostering a workplace where every team member feels safe, valued, and supported.
- Opportunities to Grow: Whether it’s professional development or on-the-job learning, we’re committed to helping you thrive.
- Making an Impact: Your work will directly contribute to the safety and success of a global organization.
You must have right to work in UK, as we are NOT able to offer Worker visas or sponsorship.
