A well-known food manufacturing company are looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on all mechanical aspects of their production equipment. The ideal candidate will have completed a mechanical maintenance apprenticeship or will have qualifications in mechanical engineering. Previous experience gained in a Food manufacturing environment is preferable.The role: Perform mechanical PPM and reactive maintenance on all production equipmentCarry out routine maintenance on machines fabricating replacement parts as necessaryProvide rapid response to breakdownsDiagnose faults and carry out repairsMaintain maintenance recordsEnsure all Health & Safety requirements are adhered to on report any issues or near missesEnsure legislative requirements are metTake part in on-call rota including nights and weekendsUpdate management on project updatesSupport continuous improvements requirements What's required: Educated to City & Guilds, BTec or NVQ level 3 in mechanical engineeringMechanical apprenticeship preferableFood manufacturing experience is idealExperience of fabrication or industrial maintenance or installationMust be physically fit, able to work on own and able to be part of the on call rota What's on offer: Hours 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday + rota for out of hours and weekend on call.Overtime and out of hours payments24 days holiday plus bank holidaysCompany pension schemeFree parking Candidates who require sponsorship now or in the future are not eligible to apply for this vacancy.Call Julia @ prime appointments if you would like to discuss this role further
