Project Engineer

RC Fornax are looking for a Project Engineer to define, manage and deliver engineering projects and bids on time and in full and provide the interface between Engineering, the Project Manager and all related company departments.


Main Responsibilities:

•Translation of Customer requirements into measurable engineering terms in accordance with project Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP).

•Definition of engineering project deliverables

•Management of design project data

•Holding and documenting timely design reviews including formal PDR and CDR.

•Overall system design

•Management of design resource in accordance with ETs and project WBS.

•Ensure team members adhere to company procedures and processes.

•Management of design hours and costs to ensure design is completed to time and budget.

•Liaison with Project Managers

•Concept design

•Checking and sign off drawings for manufacture.

•Contribute to the continuous development of business process and systems


Knowledge and Skills:

•3D Cad skills preferably with SolidWorks, although adaptation training will be given.

•Knowledge of drawing standards including BS 8888, geometrical tolerancing, welding specification etc

•Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

•Use of MS Project

•Good communication skills (verbal and written) at all levels including suppliers and customers.

•Good report writing and project information recording

•Managing staff

•Experience of drawing issue control using PDM.

•Experience of design and function of automotive systems.

•Structural analysis using first principles and FEA.

•Vehicle testing using data logging and other instrumentation.

•Use of ERP and MRP systems


Essential:

•Engineering Degree in a field relevant to SC Group’s sectors

•IEng member of a relevant professional Institution

•Proven experience of working in a Project Engineer role.

•CEng or able to achieve CEng within 3 years.
