Technical Support Analyst/ 2nd Line Support Engineer - Swinton - £30/35k


We are looking for a fabulous, experienced and passionate Technical Support Engineer to come and join an amazing manufacturing company based in Swinton.

It's a primary role within the business - Being the level of support that the company needs for around 500/600 users across the business.


. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, as well as instructing users on new applications, technologies and providing timely assistance and escalating complex problems where necessary.

This is on-site and will require 5-days a week in their office in Swinton


The role and responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Providing guidance and support to 500/600 users across the business
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Assisting in the maintenance and administration of the IT systems this includes user account permissions and access control.
  • Working/ supporting documentation of procedures, troubleshooting steps and systems creation and configuration of knowledge base articles.
  • Develop and maintain system monitoring and endpoint management systems.
  • Physical installation of technical devices, servers etc. across the business


Essential Experience:

  • 2+ years experience in a Technical Support role
  • Supporting and managing Windows Desktop and Office Applications.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft products (Active Directory, Exchange, Device Manager (intune) for BYOD & Windows and Teams
  • Experience with Android corporate devices
  • Understanding of PowerShell and JSON.
  • SharePoint user and site administration.
  • Understanding Networking Protocols TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, RADIUS and basic routing and group policies.
  • Basic understanding of threat analysis and endpoint security.
