Job DescriptionThe Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist works within the day's operations team and is responsible for leading loss elimination within the lines, and is critical to support the TPM methodology to deliver the site's strategy.They analyse line data to identify and prioritise loss elimination opportunities, lead root cause problem-solving efforts on key chronic losses for their area of responsibility, and coach teams on basic and complex problem-solving skills.The CI Specialist is expected to coach and develop the operational teams' technical understanding of process control and area operation. They should be considered subject matter experts on the process aspects of their equipment.Location: Slough, UK, full-time on-siteSalary: £42,500 - £50,000, annual bonus, benefitsWhat will be your key responsibilities?Subject Matter ExpertiseBe the process area specialist for a defined area of expertise including close collaboration with other sites in the network and teams outside of the operations team e.g. Research and Development (R&D), Technical, engineering.TPM subject matter expertise and coaching.Responsible for skills and training materials in the operational lines relating to their subject matter expertise. This includes ownership of creating, updating and approval of these materials as needed and delivering training where appropriate to eliminate losses.Mechanical/technical aptitudeOutstanding analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsClear ability to relate to and motivate peopleCertified trainer or demonstrated capability to effectively train associatesProvides clear and effective coaching and feedbackFocused improvement - Problem SolvingSolving complex operational problems using Focused Improvement methodology (Green Belt) and coaching basic problem solving initiatives.Implementing, leading and coaching projects/task groups aimed at improving the lines results (Safety, Quality, Performance, People, Costs).Implementation and coaching of improvements through cooperation across functions including Engineering, Reliability/maintenance, Research and Development (R&D) and management of work of external contractors.Introducing new initiatives and ways of working to the operational lines.Creating, updating and supervising factory documentation/instructions including Generating operational standards (Standard operating procedures, 5S, CIL and centerlines)Implementation of other activities resulting from the site strategy or Corrective actions and preventative actions.Focused Improvement - Loss AnalysisData analysis aimed at identifying losses and their sources.Implementation/supervision of tools/systems for measuring, controlling and increasing the efficiency of production lines.Verification of the effectiveness of improvement projects and the benefits resulting from them.Factory management operations system.Active participation and coaching.Owning performance KPIs.Experience managing contractorsProficient in MS Office and SAPExperience with digitalisation and automation (preferred)What We're Looking For?At least 4 years of experience in a TPM manufacturing environment.PreferredDegree in Engineering, Supply, Business or technical fieldFormal qualification in Six Sigma problem solving or similarWhat can you expect from Mars?Work with diverse and talented Associates, all guided by The Five Principles.Join a purpose-driven company, where we're striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today.Best-in-class learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University.An industry-competitive salary and benefits package, including a company bonus.Mars is committed to providing access, equal opportunity, and reasonable adjustments for individuals with disabilities, long-term health conditions, or neurodiversity during the application and recruitment process.
