Quantity SurveyorSalary: £55k to £65k Basic and benefitsLocation: Portsmouth (A3)/Hybrid – 2 days a week.Job Summary:Our client is a multi-award-winning, facade and building envelope specialist, as a Principal Contractor they plan, manage, monitor, and coordinate projects, operating in London and Southeast England. Also delivering special projects in investigation, maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, and remedial works to existing buildings.Role:Reporting to the Commercial Director and supporting the wider team in managing multi-million pounds projects across all divisions and workstreams throughout the business. You will be expected to visit construction sites in various locations across the South and further afield on occasions.Responsibilities: * Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts. * Contribute to ensuring that the business targets are exceeded. * Prepare valuations for interim applications for payment. * Preparing subcontract enquiry documentation, valuations, and interim payments. * Evaluation of subcontract tenders. * Prepare final accounts and contra-charges. * Setting up and maintaining contract files. * Provide support to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and SMT * Preparation of monthly cost / value reports for area, together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members * Produce commercial reports with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members. * Physical measurement of works and agreement of same with client and subcontractors * Agreement of certification and payment of subcontractor accounts - monitoring of such accounts against forecastsExperience * A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor * Experience preferably working in one or more of the following: * Main contractor * Façade sector * Building remediation * A degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying (desirable but not essential.)
