As a Platform Engineer youll join a collaborative team including Cloud DevOps and Site Reliability Engineers all focused on enabling secure efficient and resilient digital services.Youll play a pivotal role in designing building and evolving internal platforms that empower our System Product and Delivery teams to develop deploy and operate digital and data services with speed safety and consistency. With a strong product mindset youll simplify complexity abstract infrastructure and create self-service capabilities that make it easy for engineers to do the right thing by default.What will you be doing as a Platform EngineerCreate and maintain the core platform for engineering teams to build and run their services.Partner with Cloud and SRE teams to improve service stability and cost efficiency.Implement and enforce cloud governance policies for security cost and compliance.Develop a self-service catalogue of standardised infrastructure patterns and services.Integrate observability tooling for logging metrics and tracing.Establish frameworks and automation for fast safe and repeatable application deployments.Lead the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.Trial new tools and technologies to improve ways of working and contribute to the strategic roadmap.What does it take to be a Platform EngineerSignificant hands-on experience with a major cloud provider (preferably Microsoft Azure).Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep or Terraform).Experience with CI/CD and automation (Azure DevOps pipelines).Strong scripting skills (e.g. Python PowerShell).Understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.Strong collaboration and communication skills.Platform-as-a-Product mindset with curiosity and adaptability.Ability to analyse complex systems and identify performance bottlenecks.As a valued employee youll be entitled to:Double Matched Pension Scheme matches your contributions up to 6% (up to 18% combined)Car Allowance26 Days Annual LeavePersonal private health careAnnual bonus schemeOpportunity to volunteer and do unpaid work in the communityLife Cover at 8x your salaryPersonal Accident cover up to 5x your salaryFlexible benefits to support your wellbeing and lifestyleFree parking at all offices sites and leisure parksWere a purpose-led organisation committed to sustainability innovation and delivering long-term value for our customers and communities.
