DescriptionJob Title:Sport Development Assistant (Maternity Cover)Grade and Salary:Grade 4 24215.00 - 26707.00 pro rataFTE and working pattern:One-year fixed term contract from February 2026 to February 20270.6 FTE - 21 hours per week (applicants that cant commit to the full 21-hour contract will still be considered)Delivery includes some weekend delivery with most delivery coming Mon-Fri 9am-5.30pmOrganisation Name:Oriam: Scotlands Sports Performance CentrePurpose of Role:The Sport Development Assistant will coordinate and deliver community sport servicesSummary of Key Duties and Responsibilities:Delivery of weekly programme of community multi-sport classes primarily for children.Delivery of other community multi-sport services such as birthday parties and inflatables.Ensure delivery meets health & safety standards outlined in risk assessments.Carry out administrative tasks to ensure smooth running of services such as using online booking & customer management systems and dealing with customer enquiries.Contribute to wider Oriam Activities department services such as holiday camps and open days.Support other staff within the team especially those required to deliver services within the multi-sport services.Education Qualifications & Experience:These are the criteria on which the short-listing and recruitment selection will be madeEssentialLiteracy and numeracy skills equivalent to SCQF Level 5 or similar or equivalent experienceExperience of working within a similar role/ environment as outlined aboveCompetent in the use of relevant IT systems & packagesWell-developed interpersonal skillsDemonstrable professional and proactive approachDemonstrable ability to work quickly flexibly and accurately in a dynamic changing and pressured environmentDemonstrable provision of excellent customer serviceDesirableSports Coaching qualification(s)Educated to SCQF Level 6 and above or equivalent qualificationHow to ApplyPlease submit via the Heriot-Watt on-line recruitment system (1) Cover letter describing your interest and suitability for the post; (2) Full CV.Applications can be submitted up to midnight (UK time) on Sunday 23rd November 2025We anticipate holding interviews on Thursday 4th & Friday 5th DecemberAboutOriam:Oriam has a vision to inspire engage and motivate our communities through the facilities we provide and the interactions we have with our customers.
