Daycare Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION Position Daycare Assistant Location Daycare Department Reports to Daycare Supervisor / Daycare Management Duties will include:- To support daycare staff by providing stimulation to children, assisting in the care of toys and equipment and the preparation of snacks. To help to maintain the safety, security and physical and emotional welfare of the children within the daycare setting. To work positively within the team structure and to be included in staff ratios. To hold a current First Aid certificate, Child Protection, Manual Handling Health & Safety & Basic Food Hygiene or be willing to train for same. To conform to Daycare dress code. To respect confidentiality within the daycare setting and be fully conversant with all policies & procedures. To be willing to undertake training which will benefit service provision. To be flexible with regards to location within the daycare setting. To take on other duties in relation to daycare as and when necessary. To be involved in the observation & assessment of children within the nursery and record and make recommendations as required. To participate in the activity & routine planning process within your work area. To be fully aware of the companies Infection Control Manual and follow procedures as outlined in the document. To be aware of the Minimum Standards document and basic regulatory requirements. Skills: A natural ability to care for children hardworking reliable Caring nature Work well within a team Ability to use own initiative
