Bright Side Recruitment Ltd is assisting an established and respected Croydon based company in their search for a reliable Stores Assistant to add depth to their existing team.

The Stores Assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the warehouse. This role involves managing inventory whilst ensuring accurate record-keeping. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. The role is being offered on a full time, permanent basis. The working hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 4.30pm on Fridays.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining accurate stock levels by performing regular inventory checks and audits
  • Record and monitor stock movements, ensuring all incoming and outgoing items are accurately logged
  • Report any discrepancies or low stock levels to the Stores Manager promptly
  • Use inventory management software to update stock levels and generate reports as required
  • Assist in the preparation of reports on stock levels, order statuses, and other relevant data
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding health, safety, and security
  • Ensure that all storage areas comply with safety regulations and are free from hazards
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents to the relevant department immediately

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous stock control experience, gained within a production, or similar industrial environment is preferred
  • Experience using computerised Stock Control (MRP) software, such as SAP or Factory Master
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects
  • Possess excellent communication - both written and verbal
