No 2 Mechanic - Oxfordshire - Formula E - £40k to £55k

I am seeking a highly skilled and motivated No 2 Mechanic to join my clients motorsport team. The ideal candidate will work closely with the lead mechanic to ensure the vehicles are in peak condition for racing. This role is perfect for someone with a strong background in motorsport mechanics who is looking to contribute to a winning team and further develop their expertise in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.


My client are a huge OEM who compete in several different Motorsport competitions, the ideal candidate will have experience in F2, F3, GT3, GT4 or Electric Racing at the No2 level and have pit stop experience in these competitions.


Principal Responsibilities:


  • Assist the lead mechanic in the maintenance, repair, and optimization of racing vehicles.
  • Working to tight timelines while at events/tests/factory builds.
  • Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure vehicle reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with the lead mechanic and engineering team to implement performance enhancements.
  • Keeping a record of all car part life numbers for each event (Working to supplied life build sheets)
  • Attend/support the race team at various tests and Races.
  • Assist in Building the Race support team garage set up at the events.
  • Pit equipment repair, manufacture (Fabricate if possible)
  • New equipment ideas.
  • To assist with the maintenance and service of the race support team pit equipment.
  • To work in and maintain a clean and tidy working environment whilst at the base or events.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the motorsport industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and racing vehicle dynamics.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools commonly used in motorsport mechanics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work long hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the racing schedule.
