Within the role, you will interact with a range of stakeholders across key departments of the different business units. From sales to procurement, operations, and finance, you will work on various projects that require collaboration and efficient cross-department communication.



The ideal candidate will be proficient in using Snowflake language, build direct queries to Power BI with a good understanding of data management.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain Snowflake data warehouse solutions.
  • Design, implement, and optimize data models within Snowflake to support various analytical and reporting needs.
  • Write complex queries to extract, transform, and load data from disparate sources into the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs.
  • Work closely with the Power BI specialist to create and optimize Power BI direct queries to provide interactive and insightful visualizations for stakeholders.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through validation processes, data cleansing, and error-handling mechanisms.
  • Work closely with the IT team to establish connections between systems using ELT processes and APIs like Jitterbit.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in data engineering, recommending, and implementing improvements as necessary.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in data engineering and database administration.
  • Proficiency in cloud data warehouse platforms particularly in Snowflake (administration and language).
  • Strong understanding of databases, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases and optimization techniques, preferably MS SQL and BI Tools (SSRS, SSIS, SSDT).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
  • Effective communication in English (speaking and writing) and teamwork abilities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach to tackling challenges and driving results.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
