Fawkes & Reece South are working with a growing contractor that works on civil engineering and groundworks projects on behalf of developers and private clients throughout Hampshire and Dorset. They are seeking a Buyer to work on projects are worth between £500k and £2m based on both JCT & NEC contracts. Scope of works includes infrastructure works, footpaths, retaining walls, bridges and drainage etc.They are seeking a Buyer to join a busy team on various duties that will include:You will be involved in (but not limited to):Responsible for material procurement for several on-going projectsObtaining and negotiating quotes /prices from various suppliersWorking closely with the project team to ensure orders are placed in line with programmeAttend internal co-ordination meetings for on-going projectsRegular reporting of project costs against tenderSourcing of new suppliers and productsChecking engineering drawings for discrepancies and compliance with the required material specificationControl all purchasing administration and ensure all transactions are completed and recorded correctlyManaging any potential supply problems and work to find solutionsRequirements including skills and qualifications:Experience working in a purchasing or buying experience within civil engineering/ construction or an similar industry
