To ensure quality patient care competent and responsible personnel cost efficiency and effective utilization of unit resources to support the values and goals of UAB Hospital. To promote satisfaction and effective communication with patients/families staff physicians and other departments promote staff development and schedule nursing staff. To be responsible for 24-hour 7 days a week unit coverage. To interview and recommend hiring of qualified candidates ensure orientation of new staff evaluate performance of staff recommend staff promotion discipline and conduct terminations as necessary.
