With continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, the business is now seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Estimator with at least 5 years' experience to support tendering across a diverse project portfolio.Estimator - Job OverviewThe successful Estimator will take responsibility for preparing competitive tender submissions, managing enquiries, and producing accurate cost plans for a wide range of construction projects. This office-based role (with occasional site travel) requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously within a busy estimating department.Key Responsibilities:Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and tender submissionsReview drawings, specifications, and project informationIssue and manage subcontract enquiries and evaluate returnsPrepare take-offs and measure quantities accuratelyIdentify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering optionsBuild and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractorsContribute to handover meetings, supporting project teams with cost breakdownsAttend site visits to assess project scope as requiredAssist with procurement and ensure tender deadlines are metMaintain accurate tender documentation and commercial recordsEstimator - RequirementsMinimum 5 years' experience as an Estimator within the construction sectorStrong general construction knowledge - refurbishments, civils, groundworks & design & buildAbility to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentsExcellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skillsCompetent with IT systems including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)Strong communication and organisation skillsFull UK driving licenceAble to visit regional project sites as requiredReliable, professional, and seeking a long-term positionEstimator - Salary & BenefitsSalary: £50,000 - £65,000 (DOE)Mileage allowance21 days holiday + Bank HolidaysCompany pension schemeLong-term career progression opportunitiesStable and supportive working environmentBennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.We are acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this vacancy, and in accordance with GDPR by applying you are granting us consent to process your data, contact you about the services we offer, and submit your CV for the role you have applied for.
