AI Automation EngineerLocation: HybridEmployment: Full-timeCategory: Operations / Automation / AIAbout the RoleWe are looking for an AI Automation Engineer to analyze business workflows, identify automation opportunities, and build end-to-end automated systems using tools like n8n, AI models, and APIs. This role sits at the intersection of operations, engineering, and AI—ideal for someone who loves solving problems, designing efficient systems, and using technology to remove friction from workflows.You will collaborate across departments to map processes, develop intelligent automations, and ensure systems run reliably at scale.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Analysis & DesignMap and document existing workflows across operational teamsIdentify inefficiencies and automation opportunitiesTranslate business requirements into clear automation logicAutomation DevelopmentBuild, test, and deploy automations primarily using n8nIntegrate APIs, databases, webhooks, CRMs, support tools, and internal systemsCreate modular, scalable automation architectures with logging, monitoring, and error handlingDevelop custom nodes or scripts when required (JavaScript/Python)AI & LLM AutomationIntegrate AI models (OpenAI, Claude, etc.) into workflowsBuild intelligent agents for data extraction, routing, classification, and decision workflowsImplement prompt engineering, function-calling logic, and vector database usage when neededData & System IntegrationWork with data sources such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Airtable, Notion, or spreadsheetsParse and transform data in JSON, SQL, or via custom parsing logicEnsure clean, consistent data flows between systemsMaintenance & Continuous ImprovementMonitor automations for performance and reliabilityBuild alert systems, dashboards, or logsContinuously optimize workflows based on real-world usageMaintain documentation for all automations and processesRequired Skills & Experience2–5+ years in automation engineering, technical operations, solutions engineering, or similarStrong hands-on experience with n8n (or Make/Zapier with willingness to convert)Proficiency working with REST APIs, OAuth, and webhooksAbility to design complex, multi-step workflowsExperience integrating AI/LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)Understanding of prompt engineering & function-based task designStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to collaborate with non-technical teams and convert needs into automated solutionsExcellent documentation habitsBonus / Nice-to-Have ExperienceJavaScript, TypeScript, or Python scriptingCreating custom n8n nodes or extending platform functionalityExperience with CRMs, support systems, spreadsheets, or operations toolingExperience with databases and SQLKnowledge of BPMN/process modelingExperience building production automations at scaleWhat We’re Looking ForSomeone who loves improving systems and streamlining workA builder who can take a messy process and turn it into a clean, automated workflowProactive mindset—always looking for ways to make things faster, smarter, and more efficientComfortable in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple projectsWhy Join UsWork on impactful, high-leverage automations that transform how our business operatesUse the latest AI tools and automation platformsCollaborate across product, operations, sales, support, and leadershipFreedom to experiment, innovate, and shape our automation strategy
