Our client is looking for a multi-skilled Handyperson / Estate Worker and to carry out day-to-day maintenance duties across their private residence between Salisbury and Shaftesbury.The ideal candidate will be hard-working, enthusiastic, with a high attention to detail; and be experienced working in a similar role for a large private household, or across multiple properties.

The estate worker will report into the Estate Manager.

Job duties

Responsibilities of the estate worker for a Private Household between Salisbury and Shaftesburyinclude:

  • Work under the Estate Manager and Operations Managers guidance to maintain properties to a high standard
  • Perform or manage routine maintenance tasks including decorating, carpentry, furniture assembly, tiling, plumbing, gutter cleaning, pressure washing, and external repairs
  • Ensure heating, hot water, and pump systems are functioning optimally
  • Assist with swimming pool maintenance and basic servicing
  • Assist with pest control measures
  • Assist with general estate grounds work, forestry, fencing etc.
  • Be available to help on shoot days
  • Arrange emergency repairs for utilities and security systems
  • Support family staff with necessary tools and supplies
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operations
Candidates must be/have:
  • Experience in a similar role for a large private household
  • A clean driving licence
  • Hard-working and self-motivated team player
Hours

Full-time. Monday Friday, time TBC.

On call - working every other weekend.

Location

Between Salisbury and Shaftesbury, Wiltshire/Dorset.

Salary

Competitive, depending on experience.
