Geography Teacher

EduTalent Group are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking SEN school in West Sussex for a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher to lead and deliver an engaging inclusive and creative geography curriculum across Key Stages 24.As the Geography Teacher you will take responsibility for leading the subject across the school delivering lessons that inspire curiosity and help pupils make meaningful connections with the world around them. You will design and adapt a curriculum that supports academic progress while building confidence independence and a love of learning for pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEND).Key Responsibilities:Deliver a broad balanced and inclusive geography curriculum across Key Stages 2 3 and 4.Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop pupils understanding of people places and environments.Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet a wide range of needs and learning styles.Support pupils to achieve their individual targets including those working towards GCSE or entry-level qualifications.Use assessment and observation effectively to track progress and inform planning.Provide a safe structured and nurturing classroom environment that supports social emotional and academic development.Encourage curiosity critical thinking and resilience through creative and hands-on learning experiences.Develop and maintain stimulating classroom displays and resources that celebrate pupil achievement.Promote positive behaviour and foster a respectful and inclusive classroom ethos.Build strong relationships with parents carers and multi-agency professionals to support progress and well-being.Lead enrichment and outdoor learning opportunities such as fieldwork and local area studies.Implement Health & Safety procedures including risk assessments for off-site activities.Participate in INSET days and ongoing professional development including SEND-specific training.Contribute to the wider school community and uphold the schools values of respect compassion and resilience.RequirementsEssential:Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)Experience teaching geography or humanities subjects to pupils aged 719Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and ability to adapt it for SEND learnersExperience supporting pupils with additional needs such as autism SEMH or cognition and learning difficultiesAbility to use a range of strategies and resources to promote engagement and progressExcellent classroom management and differentiation skillsStrong organisational interpersonal and communication skillsCommitment to safeguarding and inclusive educationDesirable:Experience teaching in a special school or alternative provision settingAdditional SEND training or qualifications (e.g. autism awareness trauma-informed practice)Experience leading outdoor learning community projects or sensory-based lessonsKnowledge of specific SEND categories including SEMH and Communication & InteractionBenefitsOpportunity to work in a small nurturing school with a strong sense of communitySupportive leadership team and collaborative staff cultureAccess to ongoing CPD SEND-focused training and development opportunitiesA rewarding role making a tangible difference in the lives of young people with additional needsBeautiful school grounds in a rural West Sussex settingContribution to a values-led environment focused on respect compassion resilience and creativitySalary in line with the national pay scaleRequired Skills:PGCE QTSRequired Education:PGCEQTS Key Skills Client Server,Marketing and Merchandising,Dsp,Bakery,ACCA Employment Type : Full Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1 Monthly Salary Salary: 32000 - 50000
